“Women in Sustainable Agriculture`` Call for Project Proposals
Call for Proposals to select the implementing partner for the "Women in Sustainable Agriculture" project
Description
The "Women in Sustainable Agriculture" project aims to enhance sustainable agricultural practices, contribute to environmental conservation, and improve community well-being in Hajigabul, Kurdamir, and Ujar regions. Over two years, the project will support 150 women from vulnerable backgrounds, including families of martyrs and war veterans, low-income households, single mothers, and other disadvantaged groups.
Participants will receive comprehensive training and mentorship in sustainable agricultural practices, business management, financial literacy, and vocational/technical skills, including horticultural training and the production of health, wellness, beauty, and personal care products. Greenhouses will be installed for 150 households, each covering an area of 100 m², to support sustainable farming practices and increase agricultural productivity.
Beneficiaries will cultivate various plants, including bushes, shrubs, trees, and herbs, both inside and outside greenhouses, suitable for the local soil and climate. These plants will be used to produce a range of health and wellness products. The project will provide the necessary equipment, and supplies to enable small-scale production using these plants.
Ongoing technical support in farming and business counseling will be provided to beneficiaries, along with assistance to ensure all legal requirements, production standards, and permits are in place. Partnerships will be coordinated to facilitate product sales and inform beneficiaries about existing support and cooperation programs.
To ensure long-term sustainability, 12 women's development and production units will be established. Regular communication and engagement with local authorities, community leaders, and relevant organizations will be maintained. The project will implement a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to track progress and measure outcomes, developing strategies to ensure the sustainability of activities beyond the project duration.
By integrating these components, the project aims to empower women, enhance sustainable agricultural practices, and contribute to broader sustainable development goals.
Target Audience
The primary target demographic of the project encompasses 150 women, particularly those from vulnerable groups such as families of martyrs and war veterans, low-income households, single mothers, and other disadvantaged communities in the Hajigabul, Kurdamir, and Ujar regions.
